About Us

In 2020, Aisling Discoveries Child and Family Centre and East Metro Youth Services amalgamated to form Strides Toronto, a multi-service agency addressing the needs of children, youth, their parents and families. We are located in east Toronto and our services are predominately provided in the communities of East York and Scarborough.

Strides Toronto provides a wide range of exceptional programs and services to help our clients and their families achieve their personal best. Our agency supports clients from the prenatal stage to age 29 and their families. Our work helps strengthen their social and emotional well-being, move forward through adversity and develop their abilities and skills to reach their full potential.

Lead Agency

Strides Toronto is Toronto’s Lead Agency for Infant, Children and Youth Mental Health since 2015. As such, we collaborate with Toronto’s 25 core service providers to meaningfully engage youth and families as well as build and strengthen relationships with community partners and various sectors—such as education, healthcare, welfare, and justice—to better meet infant, child, and youth mental health needs.

Accreditation

As part of our commitment to excellence Strides Toronto participates in accreditation, a process that reviews all aspects of our organization against standards of good practice in not-for-profits. Every four years, a team of external accreditation reviewers assesses our compliance with standards in service delivery, governance, management and administration. Accreditation ensures that we are engaged in continuous quality improvement. Our agency is fully accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation.
