Board Director
Bryan Heal has 20 years of experience in research, quality, and the evaluation of youth programs. This includes his current role as Social Impact Research Lead for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), where he leads initiatives such as MLSE Foundation’s Change the Game research program to advance access, engagement, equity and positive developmental outcomes for youth through the power and potential of sport. Previous roles have included Manager Research and Evaluation at MLSE LaunchPad, a youth Sport for Development hub where he applied demographic data and measurement strategies to the evaluation of community-based programs and partnerships advancing Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Ready for School and Ready for Work outcomes for youth. Outside of MLSE, Bryan has previously worked for elected officials on Toronto’s City Council; as an Accreditation Manager at the Canadian Centre for Accreditation (CCA); and in several independent consulting capacities. As a volunteer, Bryan has served on multiple Management Advisory Groups for the United Way of Greater Toronto; is currently a Board Director of Canada’s Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC); and is a past Board Chair of Agincourt Community Services Association. In life, Bryan’s favourite hobbies include travelling, going on long runs and hikes through public trails and parks, and he spends much of his waking life thinking about what to eat for his next meal.
