Laura Jamershe/her
Board Director
Laura Jamer is currently the Vice-President of Policy and Innovation at Colleges Ontario, the advocacy group for Ontario’s 24 public colleges. Previously to this role, Laura was the Director of Government Relations at George Brown College, where she established the college’s first government relations department and successfully navigated significant policy changes from the federal and provincial governments.
Before her tenure at George Brown College, Laura spent 16 years in the Ontario Public Service, holding senior positions in various ministries, including as the Executive Advisor for the Deputy Minister responsible for Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity (part of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS). Laura also spent eight years as a Board Director at Youthdale Treatment Centres. She was Board Chair for four of those years, and was a key voice for advocacy, strategic planning, and governance during her time on the board.
