Sibel brings more than 15 years of experience in public policy, government relations, and advocacy to the board. Currently, she is the Director of Government Relations at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. In this role she leads government relations for YMCAs across Ontario, developing and executing government relations strategic plans in collaboration with CEOs and their senior teams. Previous roles include Director of Public Policy for Children’s Mental Health Ontario; Senior Policy Advisor for the Ministry of Education; Policy Advisor for Right to Play and International Program Manager for World Literacy Canada. Sibel volunteers with Fora’s Girls on Board program, dedicated to placing diverse young women on boards of directors as a coach and steering committee member. She has a Master of Arts, Political Science and International Development and is a graduate of the Maytree Policy School.
